Abu Bakr • Umar • Uthman • Ali — The Greatest Companions after the Prophet ﷺ
Abu Bakr was Nabi's ﷺ closest friend from before Islam. When Nabi ﷺ told him about prophethood, Abu Bakr didn't hesitate even one second — he said: "By Allah, I have never heard a lie from you!" and accepted Islam immediately.
Abu Bakr ؓ saw Bilal being tortured on the burning sand of Makkah. He went straight to Bilal's master and bought his freedom for 7 ounces of gold. Umar ؓ later said: "Abu Bakr our master freed Bilal our master."
During the Hijrah, Abu Bakr ؓ entered the cave first to check for dangers. A snake bit him. He didn't cry out so Nabi ﷺ could sleep. Only when a tear fell on Nabi's ﷺ face did he wake up — he applied his saliva and Abu Bakr ؓ was cured instantly.
After Nabi ﷺ passed away, Abu Bakr ؓ became the first Khalifah and held the Muslim community together. He compiled the Qur'an into book form when huffadh were being martyred in battle. At Tabuk, when asked what he left for his family, he said: "I left them Allah and His Rasul ﷺ."

At Tabuk, Uthman ؓ stood up three times — donating more each time — eventually giving 300 fully equipped camels, 10,000 gold coins, and 1,000 dinars poured into Nabi's ﷺ lap. Nabi ﷺ spent the entire night making du'a for Uthman ؓ.
Uthman ؓ commissioned the official standard written copies of the Qur'an — the Mushaf we still read today, called "Mushaf Uthman." He was martyred while sitting with the Qur'an on his lap — his blood fell on its pages.
